Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a HD Ready Antenna to receive HDTV ?
NO! TV antennas are designed to receive TV signals, “HDTV Ready” is a marketing slogan. There is no such thing as a “HDTV antenna” there are only TV Antennas.
There is an old unused TV antenna mounted on my house would it work?
Older antennas will receive HDTV. Outdoor Antennas and outdoor wiring do degrade in outdoor environment but are designed to work for many years. Modern TV Antennas are designed to maximize reception of the UHF and High VHF band. They are also designed to minimize 4G,5G, and FM signals that can cause interference. Our Technician can quickly inspect and test to see if a new antenna is required or if minor service is all that is required to put it in service.
My home was wired for Cable (or Satellite TV) is it difficult to convert to over the air TV antenna?
Generally it is simple and quick to covert from Cable/Satellite. The cost is generally lower to covert as the wiring that is in place can be used 99.9% of the time.
I have multiple TVs in my house, can I connect them all to a single over the air TV antenna?
Yes, careful antenna selection and delivery system design will provide problem free “whole home” service.
I am “handy” can I DIY a TV antenna or mounting my TV?
Of course you can. However, if the job is larger than plugging a “flat wall antenna” or “rabbit ears”using a professional installer can be a good choice. The selection of an adequate outdoor antenna can be difficult as most manufactures make unrealistic claims of how far from the transmit site the antenna will receive usable TV signals. There are other factors can make a professional installer a good choice. A few of these are these are safety issues like: working on ladders, on roofs, and in attics, and areas where electrical cables exist. There are also some skills that best results are obtained when a trained and well practiced professional help; for example: mounting and aiming the antenna for the best signal strength and installing wires inside the walls of your home.
